Types Of Golf Courses

Golf courses - Golf is big not only in America but also in Europe.

Thousands of golf courses throughout America

Scotland is the birthplace for golf and people have been playing the game for centuries in Scotland. So it is not surprising that some of the best European courses are in Scotland. However when you come to America, where should you go for a great game of golf?

Golf is a big sport out in Arizona as well as in Florida. There are golf courses in all of the states, but the best are in Arizona. Scottsdale, Arizona has over two hundred courses, both private and public golf courses.

Types of golf courses

You will also find many in Florida near high tourist areas. The different between a private and public golf course is simply the membership.

Some golf courses are owned by country clubs and they require that you be a member before you take the initiative to play a round or two. When you go to a public golf course, it is informal and open to anyone who wants to play.

Public gold courses are great if you like to play and in no rush because you can take all day and no one will rush you. There are more rules for private golf courses than public. The biggest rule that private golf courses require is your attire.

When you go to a public course, you may not have to worry about what you are wearing. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt, however, in a private golf course; you have to abide by the golf attire rules.

When it comes to the golfing attire, you will find that kakis and a polo shirt (commonly referred to as a golf shirt) are needed before you are accepted to play.

However, if you are going to a private course and are not a member, you may have someone sign you in so that you can play. Many clubs allow guests because it helps build the membership.

If you like the golf course, you should ask one of your playing partners if they would sponsor you for membership.

Once you are sponsored, you will be approved or turned down, but when you are a member you can use the golf course and the rest of the facility.

This is the best way to get into a private golf course, but there are plenty of public courses that are fit for a serious game of golf even if you aren't into rubbing elbows with some of the most prestige.

You will notice that not two courses look alike when it comes to golfing. There are not many rules when it comes to a golf course's structure, but there are a certain number of holes that a course must have.

Each course must have at least eighteen holes, some private golf courses will have a few extra, but that is to work on your game.
